Design Philosophy
First and foremost, your home should be your sanctuary--an oasis--if you will, sheltering you from the complexity of your busy world. When you walk into your home, you should feel a sense of calm and joy and belonging--not feel more stress.
Your home should be a canvas for your life’s unique experiences reflecting your unique personality, interests, journeys and design esthetic. The end result is a space that tells your unique story and reflects your own personal style.
Just about everything wonderful takes time to create, and your home is no exception. I believe in living in a home for a good long while before making any major changes. You need to understand the way you are going to use each space in your home before you go about the business of creating the space and spending time and resources in the process.

I don’t specialize in any one style. My job is to understand my client’s esthetic style, and elevate it to be the most tasteful and functional for their lifestyle. My goal at the end of the project is for the client to feel that their home reflects their personality - not mine. I think I do this quite well.
Much of the time, this involves editing spaces--people often have way too much “stuff” in their rooms. Also, I firmly believe that every piece in a home should have some meaning to those who live in it. If a home’s parts are meaningful, then so too is the whole. I despise the “model home” look that is perfect, but has no soul.
I personally like an eclectic mix of antiques and modern furniture, comfortable fabrics, and finishes that are practical for raising a family and really living in a home (chenille, leather, distressed finishes). I love one-of-a-kind pieces and artwork, and I like to play with collections, that again, are meaningful to the client's family.
